1995 10914 ABOUT THE BOOK Grilliot's Introduction to Law and the Legal System listed at Eighty Two dollars. was casting about for a book to recommend to a group of forensic scientists to help them understand the law more than I was able to convey in a short speech. Then I found this book in the public library, and it answered the need. In spades. It is a textbook, but like law school textbooks, it follows the case-study method, which I think is good. From a reviewer: "The author addresses not only the major categories of law--contracts, property, torts, criminal law and procedure, et al.-but also starts with an enlightening and useful chapter on the philosophical and historical underpinnings of the law.
