1985 000862 Brand New., Soft Cover.5 -1/2 x 7-1/2. 32 pages, 51 illustrations. Parian is a porcelain of smooth surface, usually matt and almost always ivory in colour. Surviving piece s are mostl y figures, busts or intricate groups of figures and animals. Vases, jugs, medallions, spill holders and sundry ornaments were also made and can still be found, though most were probably th rown away. Parian originated in Britain and most of it was made there. Dennis Barker started collecting Parian ware in the 1960s. He has researched Parian in company records, street markets and museu ms in the Pot teries and in the USA.
