The photography is excellent, capturing the flavor of these stores which are frozen in time yet contemporary. The text, playful and enlightening, is reminiscent of Charles Kuralt. These qualities alone make it a worthy purchase. This is a visual treat that many public library patrons will find useful and enjoyable. An appendix gives a geographic listing of the stores covered plus others, and includes street addresses and phone numbers.
