ATLAS OF THE BIBLE Dolezal, Robert 1982 51952 The world's most enduring work of faith and wisdom, the Bible also tells the story of great people moving through a land starkly, awesomely beautiful. Abraham travels from "Ur of the Chaldeans" down to the land of Cannan; David flees the wrath of Saul in the Wilderness of Judea; Jesus gathers his "fishers of men" on the shores of the Sea of Galilee. To provide a deeper understanding of the Bible's immortal stories, Reader's Digest has sought to place them in their proper geographical and historical context. The result, Atlas of the Bible, is a unique reference work and a fascinating reading experience. No other Bible atlas so realistically depicts the landscape of the Bible world; no other Bible atlas contains such a wealth of maps and illustrations. Reader's Digest Book of Facts: Essential and Intriguing Information About This Odd World Around Us Dolezal, Robert 1987 10000684 First published in Britain in 1985 as a combination almanac, encyclopedia, and trivia collection, this book succeeds best as a collection of trivia. A good fact book should be designed to answer ready reference questions and Book of Facts has deficiencies in this respect. The information is arranged by broad subjects: people, places, arts, etc.with numerous colored photographs and charts. The subjects are then subdivided and the individual facts are prefaced by titles " Since there is no similar source, and the book is entertaining and has an abundance of facts, it would be useful for persistent librarians or trivia fans in public, school, or academic libraries. Bringing a breadth and depth to the life of Jesus that readers will find immensely satisfying, the attractively designed volume, featuring colorplates on nearly every two-page spread, will have wide appeal in public libraries. Ilene Cooper Product Description Enhanced by more than five hundred photographs of artifacts and art reproductions and two hundred literary selections, this anthology lends a new perspective to the life and times of Jesus. TRAVEL GUIDE USA Dolezal, Robert 1994 51982 Despite its large size and glossy pictures and maps, this guide contains much useful information. It divides the country into three sections-Western, Central, and Eastern-and then lists tourist attractions region by region, providing a brief description of each and indicating whether there is an admission charge. As in any such compilation, some interesting places have been omitted. The large maps are not very useful, since they are not detailed, but the smaller, large-scale maps are much better . The attractions are numbered and keyed to the numbers on the maps, so the traveler can look at the map, then check the description of the numbers and decide if the site is worth seeing. Listed at thirty three dollars. Readers Digest 0-89577-564-6 / 9780895775641 Hardcover Very good Condition Pleasantville, N.Y. Price:
