The author, Eleanor St. George has one of the finest collections of antique dolls in America, and has written this trea sure of a book that gathered information from doll collectors all over the country about their collections and photographs of their favorites. Written in 1948, this 204 page volume is in excellent c ondition (the book jacket has wear 'n tear around the extremeties; the book itself is almost as new, previous owner's signature inside front cover. History of the Jumeau, a section on " Negro" dolls, new facts about the Schoenhyts; wax penny dolls, the English pedlars, and strange little poppets. Pictures of all of America's doll CELEBRITIES such as "Mollie Brinkerhoff" of revolutionary War fame; old "Peg Wooden", who belonged to John Nott,; Mrs. St. George's own "Ridiklis" and Queen Victoria who had the honor of receiving an autograph from Helen Hayes are found here. .
